Today, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced that effective May 19, 2021, Orange County (OC) will move into the Yellow Tier of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy.  California’s blueprint for reopening assigns every county in California a tier based on a set criteria: positivity rate, case rate and health equity. Depending on what tier a county is assigned to, a county may loosen or tighten restrictions on activities based on the level of spread of COVID-19. Orange County has met the criteria to move into the Yellow Tier based on the following criteria:

• Positivity Rate: 0.9
• Case Rate: 1.5
• Health Equity: 0.9

By moving into the Yellow Tier, most indoor business operations are open with modifications and/or will be allowed to increase their operational capacity.

To view the status of a business or activity of interest under the Yellow Tier in Orange County, please visit the State’s website at https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy. Under the “County or Tier level” search bar, enter “Orange” and/or under the “Activity” search bar, enter a business or activity and click on the “Get Status” button.
